When you think of summer time treats, naturally some fruit inspired recipes stick out in your mind. For me and my family, that fruit inspired recipe is Strawberry Shortcake. Listen, you can definitely cut corners by getting ready made cakes, or the store ready made biscuits, but I strongly encourage you to try my homemade biscuit and cool whip recipe. Once you see how easy they are to make, and how amazing they taste, it will become mandatory that you have your Strawberry Shortcake this way every time.
Strawberries
The first step to this recipe, I encourage you to clean, cut and prep your strawberries. For this part of the recipe, you Only need two ingredients: the strawberries and granulated sugar. The sugar acts as a support agent so that all of the flavors of the strawberries will be released. Once you have combined the ingredients for the strawberries, go ahead and place your ingredients in the refrigerator to keep them cool.
Biscuits Recipe
Moving right along, we now want to start working on the ingredients for your biscuits. I’m not going to lie, the very first time that I made homemade biscuits, I was a little overwhelmed. But now that I have made them a few time, this method of making them is really bulletproof. Seriously, there is no way this can be messed up.
What is even better about these biscuits I that they only have 4 steps to making them.
Steps:
1.Make sure your butter is cold and add them to your dry ingredients.
2. Add in your milk and stir (a hand mixer or a bowl mixer to start off with) but then you will want to use your hands.
3. Use a cooker cutter or a round cutter to cut the biscuits into the round shapes.
4. Lastly, bake them in the oven. Now come on. Can we admit that those steps sound easy to master, right?

Whip Cream
If you have been keeping up those far, then you know there is only one more step to making this popular summertime treat. That is the whip cream. Making this at home is even easier than making the biscuits. You are going to want to combine your heavy whipping cream, vanilla, and granulated sugar and use a hand mixer to whisk the mixture until you have what appears to be stiff, fluffy clouds.

After your biscuits have had time to cool down, remove the strawberries from the refrigerator. Then, I took one of the biscuits and added a layer of strawberries 🍓. To the strawberries, I added the whipped cream and then topped it all with another sweet, buttery biscuit.

If you try this recipe or anything else on the blog, do not be shy, let me know. For this month, I will be featuring one mouth watering summer time treat each week. What are some of your favorite summertime treats? Who knows, it maybe one of mines also and even featured on the site.

Here from Mattie’s challenge. Funny. Yesterday I saved a recipe similar to this for strawberry shortcake. I planned on trying it out with my Mom. We will definitely be trying this. It looks amazing.
Oh nice, yes I’m glad that I joined the Challenge. Great ideas were given out to hold me accountable 🤗. You will love the recipe. It is super quick and easy
Very beautiful presentation! It looks delicious 😋 thanks for sharing this. I’ve been making my own family recipe for years with little cakes, and glazing the strawberries instead. But this recipe with biscuits instead of cakes sounds amazing. Can’t wait to try it!
Thank you kindly. I kept myself on quarintine and have been able to try out many recipes. It is always better when you know exactly what you are putting in your food.
